World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz praised China's growing involvement in Africa but also echoed, while toning down, criticism from last year.China was bringing three important values to Africa: money, "extremely valuable development experience" and a willingness to tackle difficult problems, Wolfowitz said Monday at a Washington reporters roundtable with Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.

But in a veiled reference to China's interest in Sudan's oil resources, he suggested that it was important "to share lessons from the past," such as not keeping corrupt governments "on life support."
