World Bank arbitrator delays verdict on Baglihar dispute

ISLAMABAD, Nov 13 (PTI): The World Bank-appointed neutral expert to arbitrate on the Baglihar Dam project has reportedly decided to delay his verdict on the issue after Pakistan contested his draft final determination endorsing in principle the hydro-electric project being built by India in Jammu and Kashmir.

Swiss water expert Raymond Lafitte decided to delay his verdict after his final meeting with the Pakistani and Indian delegations in Washington early this week, Pakistan officials were quoted as saying by the Dawn newspaper here.
