UK: Tube workers lobby Downing Street

Workers from the collapsed Tube maintenance firm Metronet are urging the prime minister to bring its contracts back into the public sector.

The private consortium, responsible for two thirds of the network, went into administration following cost overruns.

As Chancellor Gordon Brown spearheaded the Public Private Partnership under which Metronet bid for its contracts.

RMT general secretary Bob Crow will ask for infrastructure work to be the control of London Underground.
