In the first award, the scheme was named as 'European PPP Deal of the Year in 2006' by Project Finance magazine – an international authority in the project finance sector - which praised the deal for its conduit financing structure, the first of its kind in the global PPP market and the first monoline-wrapped PPP in Ireland.
