Second Thai-Lao bridge to finally open this week after 10-year project costing 2.6 billion baht

The second Thai-Lao bridge linking Mukdahan province to Sauvannakhet in Laos is scheduled to open on Wednesday - more than a decade after the project was initiated in 1990. Presiding over the opening ceremony will be Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Representing the Lao government at the ceremony will be Vice-President Bounnhang Vorachit. Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont and his counterpart Bouasone Bouphavanh will also attend the ceremony.
