Slump delays £2.5bn building projects

CONSTRUCTION projects with a total value of more than £2.5 billion are on hold in Scotland due to the economic downturn, The Scotsman has learned.

The shocking figures are from Glenigan, a contracts database that tracks all UK commercial construction tenders. Allan Wilén, its head of business market intelligence, said most delays were a result of the downturn.
