MUMBAI -- Reliance Industries Ltd. said Thursday it has issued a notice to cut off gas supplies to the Anil Ambani-held Reliance Infrastructure Ltd.

Reliance Industries - controlled by billionaire Mukesh Ambani - issued the notice after Reliance Infrastructure, held by his estranged younger brother Anil, defaulted on payments, the former said in a press statement.

The two brothers are also locked in a dispute over the price at which Reliance Industries should sell natural gas from its block in India's east coast to Reliance Natural Resources Ltd., another firm controlled by Anil Ambani.
