07-September-2007: An international consultancy firm has criticised the Government for adopting public-private partnerships as its preferred mode of service delivery without establishing a legal framework for it.
The Institute of Public Private Partnerships (IP3) says haphazard management of the partnerships had resulted in massive failure of the arrangements leading to the stalling of many projects.
IP3, which was hired by the World Bank to evaluate Kenya’s experience with public-private partnerships said lack of proper operation framework had left room for disputes , with disastrous consequences to the programmes.
