Power Grid Corporation of India on Sep. 22, 2008 announced that the board of directors of the company has given nod for investment of approximately Rs 48.2412 billion for transmission system associated with Mundra Ultra Mega Power Project.

The project will last for 48 months from the date of investment approval.
