« Morgan Stanley wins privatization mandate | Main | Turkey: 'Road privatizations should be carried out in a single tender' » March 30, 2007Nigeria: Nigeria: Stakeholders Drum Support for Public-Private PartnershipSource: Vanguard (Lagos) By Olubusuyi AdenipekunThe various reforms being launched by the Federal Ministry of Education under the leadership of Mrs Obiageli Ezekwesili, which emphasise a strong partnership with the private sector, are borne out of her determination to make education an agent of social engineering in Nigeria. This view came from Mr. Olukayode Odumosu, the Managing Consultant with Edupedia, an education consulting firm, while addressing the press recently. According to him, Ezekwesili's private educational initiatives like Operation Reach All Secondary Schools, Operation Reach All Primary Schools, Public-Private Partnership (PPP), Community Accountability and Transparency Initiative, Adopt - A- School Programme, Vocational Enterprise Institutions, Innovation Enterprise Institutions and National Career Centres, are all encouraging as they are capable of making education play its role of transforming the society.Posted by pichu at March 30, 2007 10:00 PM |
