Nigeria: FG to Introduce Public, Private Participation in Rail Lines Management

The planned rehabilitation of Nigerian railways by the Federal Government under the railway modernisation project will at completion be handed over to private entrepreneurs in a public private partnership (PPP) model.

The mesaure, government said, is to ensure proper and effiecent management of the new railways.

Minister of Transport, Mallam Aliyu Mohammed, disclosed this in Abuja while receiving representatives from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, Chinese journalists and representatives of Chinese Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), the company handling the project.
