Nigeria: FG Secures 100m Dollars Loan for NICEP

The federal government has concluded plans to get a 100 million dollar loan to finance the National Information Communications and Education Programme (NICEP).

A source at the Ministry of Science and Technology told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) yesterday in Abuja that the loan would be gotten from China Exim Bank.

The programme is expected to provide Internet connectivity to rural and under served areas nationwide.

It would also provide Internet access to 32 unity schools, 24 universities, 1,500 post offices and all local government headquarters.
