New BEE infrastructure fund eyes Kelvin power station

A R649-million black economic-empowered (BEE) private-equity fund, which will target infrastructure investments in South Africa and the region, was officially launched on Wednesday evening, with the initiators suggesting that the fund's first disbursement would take place in the first half of the year.

The fund has been established by empowered financial services group Kagiso Trust Investments (KTI) and African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM), and is referred to as the Kagiso Infrastructure Empowerment Fund (KIEF).
