MALAYSIA: Overseas jobs to bolster construction sector, says TA Sec

MALAYSIA'S construction sector next year is expected to be favourable, especially for smaller unlisted construction players, TA Securities said.

"Although the clear winners are more than likely be the smaller unlisted construction players, the pie is still large enough for listed construction players to gain from," the research house said in a report.

Highlighting the construction sector as one of the major themes for 2007, TA Securities said under the Ninth Malaysia Plan (2006-2010), the main beneficiaries will be the smaller contractors who are 63,000-strong registered under Construction Industry Development Board and 47,000 with Pusat Khidmat Kontraktor.
