Macquarie Fund Gets Offer

Canadian Pension Seeks to Buy Affiliate for $931.2 Million

MELBOURNE, Australia -- A Canadian pension fund has made a 1.37 billion Australian dollar (US$931.2 million) bid for Australia's Macquarie Communications Infrastructure Group, indicating ongoing interest for assets backed by Macquarie Group Ltd.

Macquarie Communications Infrastructure said its board is recommending the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board's all-cash offer of A$2.50 a security, which represents a premium to the pre-bid share price of A$1.46.
