KUWAIT: Rethink on BOT termination a courageous step; PM makes his mark as decision-maker

KUWAIT CITY: One needs to be frank with oneself and have noble ethics to own up to mistakes. At a time when these values are in short supply, we should appreciate and thank HH the Prime Minister for his courageous instructions to freeze the decisions on terminating BOT contracts and scrutinizing the concerned companies.If implemented, the decision to terminate BOT contracts could have resulted in the closure of several companies, rendered their employees jobless, and harmed their economic interests. This would have adversely affected Kuwait's reputation. Suspending these decisions is not only about correcting mistakes. It also opens the door for the decision-maker to review the psychological factors which affected his earlier decision - to burn economic projects for political interests.
