Infrastructure Council of CII prescribes transparency criteria for PPP bidding

The newly constituted Infrastructure Council of the Confederation of Indian Industry, in its first meeting, focused on reviewing developments in Public - Private Partnership (PPP) in the Indian infrastructure sector.

It came up with the criteria for a transparent PPP bidding process, which will protect the public and private support for PPP and will make it a viable option to build Indian infrastructure and provide sustainable services.

It specified that any potential bidder should not involve in the designing of the bid criteria. Apart from that, bids conditions should not be biased to any particular party. No artificial entry barriers should be put up which would disqualify the equally- qualified competitor. Undue weightage to subjective criteria in favor of any pre-selected party should be discouraged.
