India Tower's green shoots

Construction has started on India Tower, a new 301 m high hotel, retail, and residential tower designed by US and Dubai-based Fox and Fowle (FXFOWLE) Architects.

Located in South Mumbai, India, and developed by D B Hospitality Private, it will be an "environmental responsible, high-end shopping, dining, and entertainment complex" that, according to the developer will set "a high standard for future architecture and design projects in the country."

Located in the prestigious South Mumbai coastal area, known as the Queens Necklace, the tower's rotated form, according to Sudhir Jambhekar, principal in charge of FXFOWLE's International Studio in New York, US, "emerges in response to the 1.2-ha site, the building's functional requirements, and its mixed-use program that changes with each rotation of the tower."
