India: Maha to adopt PPP model for seven airports

MUMBAI: Maharashtra government will adopt Public Private Parntership (PPP) model for building airports in seven cities of the state, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Maharashtra Airport Development Company R C Sinha said.

Of the seven proposed airports, the one at Shirdi will be greenfield whereas in case of other six cities, airstrips exist already but there is no airport infrastructure, Sinha told the media in an interview.

Besides Shirdi, development of new airports have been planned for cities like Solapur, Phalton, Dhulia, Karad, Jalgaon and Chandrapur.
