Global infrastucture financing grew 68% in first half of 2006 - report

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Global infrastructure project finance volumes, including public-private partnerships and private finance initiatives, grew 68% in the first half of 2006 from the same period a year earlier, IJ Research & Analysis reported Wednesday.

In its First Half 2006 Global Infrastructure Review, IJ R&A, a unit U.K. publication Infrastructure Journal, said global project finance volumes totaled $98.5 billion in the first half, up sharply from $58.8 billion in the same period last year, with the number of transactions reaching completion rising to 167 from 124 transactions to 167 over the same period.
