EU seeks to work with China in Africa

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The European Union and China should put aside their rivalry in Africa and work together to develop infrastructure and ensure natural resources are well managed, the bloc's executive said on Wednesday.

Europe, home to countries that once colonised Africa, has long seen the continent as its backyard and is its largest aid donor. It now faces tough competition from resource-hungry China, which has invested billions of dollars in securing raw materials and building infrastructure.
