Delta Commits $4bn to Generate 2500mw Electricity

Delta State government has concretised its plan to attract investments to the state by applying for a licence to generate 2500 megawatts (MW) of electricity at a cost of $4 billion.

Speaking while submitting a proposal for the power generation project to Chairman of Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Dr Ransome Owan, in Abuja, Delta State Governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan, explained that construction of the independent power plant would take three years from the date it is granted the licence.
