Canada: Patients or Patience?

While neighbours complain about the lack of meaningful community consultation on the Vancouver Island Health Authority's proposed patient care tower at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, Richard Neal, B.C. Health Coalition researcher, warns that P3 projects, like the proposed tower, often leave out public input.

Neal was one of two researchers who spoke about the problems associated with P3 contracts at a public meeting organized by the South Island Health Coalition. The July 4 meeting was attended by CRD politicians and staff, federal and provincial politicians (all NDP) and interested community members.
