Canada: Multinational firm will build new Laval toll bridge

A consortium headed by an Australian multinational has beaten out prominent Quebec bidders and won the right to build and operate a new private toll bridge between Montreal and Laval, the Quebec government announced yesterday.

The 1.2-km bridge will link Anjou in Montreal with Duvernay in eastern Laval, and be part of the long-awaited 7.2-km Highway 25 completion. When finished in 2011, the new link will connect Henri Bourassa Blvd. in Montreal with Highway 440 in Laval.
