Bengal signs first JV deal for private-public partnership

KOLKATA: Having talked about it for the last few years, it is on Monday that the West Bengal government signed its first joint venture for foraying into private-public partnership (PPP) in the small-scale sector. The government is also evaluating as many as 24 JV proposals from the small-scale sector.

WBSIDC, the state government's arm for development of the SSI sector, signed a joint venture agreement with Indian Tanning Industries for taking a 26% stake in the JV company that will build an integrated leather complex at Dhantala in West Bengal’s North Dinajpur districts.
