« Indonesia: Opportunities abound in toll road industry | Main | Africa: Will China Be a Port of Call for Dictators? » November 12, 2006Bangladesh: Power sector corruption and relevant thoughts
Source: The Financial Express POWER and Energy Adviser Hasan Mashud Chowdhury of the incumbent caretaker government promised to the nation recently that he would publish a white paper on last few years' expenditures in the power sector to unearth why power generation was not increased. The nation thus expects that the white paper would help identify the reasons behind the failure to increase power generation in the country despite huge expenses in the sector. The white paper is also likely to help point out the obstacles and pin down the persons responsible for the failures, said the adviser while commenting on former State Minister for Power and Energy Anwarul Kabir Talukder's willingness to publish a white paper on power sector corruption.
