Australia's 'largest road project' gets go-ahead

The Queensland Government has awarded the contract for what it says is the largest road infrastructure project in Australia.

A consortium of Macquarie Group, Thiess and John Holland won the $4.8 billion tender.

The consortium will build Brisbane's 7.5-kilometre airport link toll tunnel, the next section of the northern busway, and a new flyover to alleviate gridlock at the notorious airport roundabout.
