Australia: Labor to learn from PPP errors

FEDERAL Labor has promised to learn from the mistakes of bad public-private partnerships as it moves to refine its proposed $9 billion national fibre-based broadband network, which will receive up to $4.7 billion in taxpayer funds.

Launched last week, the network will form the centrepiece of Labor's communications, media and information technology policy.

In recent years many state Labor governments have been burned by ambitious PPP projects, such as Sydney's Cross City Tunnel.
