African infrastructure to grow as new fund plants $625m seed

New York - The Pan-African Infrastructure Development Fund signed investment agreements worth $625 million (R4.5 billion) on Friday, pledging to plough the money into energy, technology, transport and water projects on the continent.

The fund aimed to reach its $1 billion target in the next 12 months, said Brian Molefe, trustee of the fund and chief executive of the Public Investment Corporation.
