African bank creates regional infrastructure fund

WASHINGTON, April 25 (Reuters) - The African Development Bank (AfDB) said on Wednesday it had teamed up with investors to create a fund that will invest in large-scale infrastructure projects in Africa, including in energy, roads and water.

The Pan-African Infrastructure Development Fund (PAIDF), a close-end private equity fund, will invest directly in infrastructure projects, as well as in securities of companies that own, control, operate or manage infrastructure and related assets.
