Africa: Singapore to Invest in New African Infrastructure Fund

Singapore's pension fund scheme is one of several interested external parties considering investing in the newly-launched Pan-African Infrastructure Development Fund, Deputy Foreign Minister Aziz Pahad told reporters, Thursday.

Speaking to the media at a briefing on progress in government's programme of action by the International Relations, Peace and Security cluster, Mr Pahad said a number of other parties were looking at investing in the fund.

The fund, initiated with the assistance of President Thabo Mbeki, was unveiled earlier this week, at the African Union summit, held in Accra, Ghana.
