Dec. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Actis Capital LLP raised $2.9 billion for an emerging markets private equity fund, exceeding its target amid the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.
The third in a series of emerging-markets funds will allocate at least $1 billion to Africa, $1 billion to India, $600 million to China and $330 million to Latin America, London-based Actis said in a statement distributed in Johannesburg today. The fund was targeted to raise $2.5 billion.
