ABN AMRO Global Infrastructure Fund buys Societa Gasdotti Italia from Clessidra

ABN AMRO Global Infrastructure Fund has agreed to acquire 100 per cent of Societa Gasdotti Italia from Clessidra Capital Partners. The stock purchase agreement was signed at the end of 2006 for an enterprise value of 300m euros.

SGI operates an integrated network of high pressure natural gas pipelines in Central and Southern Italy.

Hans Meissner, CEO of ABN AMRO Infrastructure Capital Management, said, 'We are particularly pleased to make another acquisition in the energy sector. We believe that SGI strengthens our existing portfolio, which includes ESP Pipelines Group Ltd, the third largest independent gas transporter in the United Kingdom.'

ABN AMRO Global Infrastructure Fund was established in 2005 to invest in infrastructure assets globally. The fund currently has approximately 1bn euros of capital commitments...
