Public-private route for U.P infrastructure (India)

NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Tuesday said her government would partner with the private sector to develop infrastructure.

Constrained by limited resources at its disposal, the government could not take up infrastructure works comprehensively.

Hence the decision to invite proposals for new projects from private investors under the public-private partnership policy. In the PPP route for infrastructure development, the government would play facilitator, Ms. Mayawati told a press conference at Pragati Maidan here where the India International Trade Fair observed "U.P. Day."
