The Global Project Strategies researc consortium, CRGP's Collaboratory partner in Finland, led by Prof. Risto Tainio, Dr. Tapio Koivu and Dr. Antti Ainamo, has received a major funding boost. They were granted an award of 1.2m euros by TEKES, the national agency in Finland that funds industrial and scientific research and development activities. The grant is to develop a major research effort across four interrelated areas of global project management:
- business renewal,
- project networks,
- cultural values, and
- risk management.
The GPS research consortium joins researchers from the Helsinki School of Economics, VTT National Research Center and Helsinki University of Technology in a joint research effort to study global project strategies of Finnish firms.
GPS has self-defined task to study strategies of engineering based firms to mitigate the challenges and to leverage the possibilities of having representatives of multiple cultures in same project. Goals of GPS include goals targeted at both academic research and company specific competence development.
Participating companies include Nokia Networks, Nokia Multimedia, FosterWheeler, TVO, Posiva, and ActiveInspire.
