New York City,

Meeting Investors' Needs via Global Opportunities in Infrastructure Assets

The forum website

Institutional Investor's 3rd Annual Infrastructure Investment Forum will explore the ways that institutions can best access the benefits of investing in infrastructure, with a special focus on opportunities arising from increasing global demand for infrastructure projects of all types in all regions. This day and a half program will examine the risk-return characteristics of some of the more important types of infrastructure asset, what sectors and instruments are suitable for specific funds - and why, and how these investments can fit into most funds' asset allocations for best performance.

Investors' interest in infrastructure stems from many factors, including the increasing importance of these assets as an inflation hedge, relatively stable income streams, and growing comfort with the associated risks and potential for higher relative returns. But another factor is driving demand for infrastructure assets - need.

In the US alone, experts estimate that $600 billion in capital is needed just to reverse the decline of our existing infrastructure while as much as $1.6 trillion is required to improve what we have. Similarly, the commodities boom and the notably high growth of emerging economies like China, India, and many countries in the Middle East have fuelled demand further. All in all, more US investors are concluding that infrastructure assets are among the most promising investment opportunities and are responding by either making their first allocations to these assets or increasing existing ones.

What are the different financing models and how do they impact investors' risks and returns? Do infrastructure investments make sense from an institutions' staffing and resources point of view? What are the regulatory restrictions? The 3rd Annual Infrastructure Investment Forum is attended by invitation only and is designed for an audience of delegates who are interested in investing in infrastructure assets.
